Overview
Customhome.ai is a transformative AI-driven platform designed to revolutionize the way custom homes are designed and built. As cofounder, I led the design, data architecture, and development of cutting-edge solutions which automated and visualized floor plan and façade customization at scale, allowing homeowners and builders to create tailored designs with unprecedented efficiency and accuracy.
In the lead up to CustomHome.AI’s acquisition by Builder’s Capital, we developed a platform which enabled lot owners and developers to design their residences using modifiable floor plans, with customizable options for all interior and exterior elements. This process, driven by AI, also allows for users to do things like uploading inspiration images (or their Pinterest/Houzz boards) to find near matches on finishes and designs; or upload their own floor plans. These are visualized in Unreal Engine in real time, then converted into BIM for export into quantity takeoffs, purchase orders, construction documents, and other documents for contractors.
Model/Plan Selection
The user is able to log in to the platform to select models based on their exterior/interior design & floor plan preferences
Convert PDFs into Revit
Alternatively, the user can upload PDF files of their own design, which gets auto-converted into a BIM file, using the internally-developed image extractive tool. From there, the model is uploaded to the platform for further customization.
Customize Exterior
The user is able to customize the exterior finishes, doors, windows, etc. from a vast array of partnered material providers & vendors.
Customize Interior
The interior finishes, fixtures, lighting, cabinets, and other elements are similarly customizable.
Quantity Takeoffs & Purchase Orders
Once design decisions are made, permit and construction documents are generated from the resultant selections. Additionally, detailed quantity take-offs (QTOs) and purchase orders are created for all elements of the building, and sent over to partnered general contractors and subcontractors.
